roundup,
Sorry, we use 4 letter descriptions of projects on the backend. by habit i added the 1 in there...it is the first HCC project, no plans or talks of hcc phase 2 or another project with HCC in the name. Sorry for confusion. -Uplinger |

Twice as fast or 38% faster, all depends which banker one talks too. If running 2 hours in Beta version 6.08 and 4 hours in old production version 6.06, one can say the old one is 100% slower, or the new one is 50% faster... anyway, snagged one beta and it's self-appointed itself to high priority processing. Got a few more of these now 61 hour DDDT2- C types [was 84 hours that really do 45 minutes like clockwork :>)
----------------------------------------I see a possibility coming al lah DDDT-1 where several chrystal packets will be concatenated to reduce the WU numbers and still have a 5-6 hour project mean per job. Would uplinger share in that thought?

I am running an Intel I7 Windows 7 64bit HT
----------------------------------------My normal average time is 5-6 hrs. The one unit I got will probably finish in about 3 hr 30 min. Correction: 3 hr 3 min. Neither of my wingmen have returned theirs. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 23, 2010 11:14:59 PM] |

A little confused here.
----------------------------------------Do I need to sign up for beta testing or are these being distributed thru the normal way? ![]() |

Sek,
We are going to try to run the work units by themselves, not packaging them together. We need to see how the system handles them first :) -Uplinger |

Movieman,
If the work units run well in beta, then we're going to move the application to production. Currently only 1 job is sent from the researchers as a 1 work unit. DDDT Phase 1 packaged up multiple jobs in to 1 work unit. At this point we are planning on keeping HCC running 1 job is 1 work unit. That way there is no script changes or additional testing required on our end. But if the backend servers can't keep up with the demand, we will need to re-evaluate and proceed from there. -Uplinger |

Movieman,
I appear to be answering questions in reverse order today :) Anyways, to get one of these faster work units, you need to be in BETA at this time. This has not been moved to production just yet. -Uplinger |
