Not getting anymore jobs

Hi ! I'm using WCG together with GPUGRID.
When I want to update the projects both projects are requesting jobs for only GPU and not for CPU (I have 4 CPU cores and 2 GPUs) ? crying
What's up ? (Using BOINC client 6.10.18 on Win XP X64)
Thanks for your time...

Re: Not getting anymore jobs

What happens if you put "No new tasks" from Boinc client for the GPUGrid?

Re: Not getting anymore jobs

Hi jhal,

As far as asking GPU work from WCG, the servers will tell the client to not ask for GPU work again for the next 7 days as there is none. Many run the combo WCG on CPU and GPUGrid on GPU only successfully. Can't help you with experience, but can give you a link to the big BOINC FAQ service topic on GPU configurations: http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=471

Hope it helps you find a solution.

Hi ! You're right but as a coïncidence , it started downloading new jobs for CPU after I rebooted. At this time all GPUgrid GPU jobs were finished !.
By the way I have tried playing with the suspend/resume etc. : did not change anything...

I will observe what happen u,til the next 7 days (which is my job preload duration).

Thanks both for your help.

Re: Not getting anymore jobs

Think there's still some wobbly logic in the current clients that has issues with scheduling CPU and GPU separately without each other impeding... it's WIP.

Booting often works wonders, reading something last week where a delayed loading of drivers caused BOINC to not see cards. In Windows that's easily fixed by utilizing a OS service delay function for BOINC. I've got BOINC configged through the cc_config.xml with 1 minutes through the <start_delay>1</start_delay> line in addition to the service load delay. The how is somewhere in the Start Here FAQ's... this one: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,21661
