Mine settled down to around 5 hrs now. Seems my mac adjusts allot when switching projects. Starting to get peeved with it. When my next build gets done, probably take it off line.

How is the Lehigh of a HFCC job determined? Both the following jobs were run on a I7 980X @ 3.33Ghz/HT on
----------------------------------------HFCC_ L4_ 01110545_ L4_ 0001_ 0-- 4.14 hours returned 3/6/11 & HFCC_ L4_ 01088501_ L4_ 0000_ 0-- 9.26 hours returned 3/6/11. Both jobs had 254 dockings. My questions why is there such a time difference? ![]() |

One compound being docked is not the same as the other [shape/size/atomic properties etc]... the whole purpose of working through the library of 2.85 million to find the best fits at lowest energy bindings... Bison-kit v Super-glue.
This being "non-deterministic" computations, one needs many more than the other. Opposed for HCC and C4CW the duration can be quite accurately predicted, hence their very low variability. --//-- |

Thanks SekeRob . If theres going to be more work for HFCC in the future would it be possible to add the time each docking took? eg 08:44 Finished Docking number 0
----------------------------------------09:00 Finished Docking number 1 ect, ect As is in C4CW task out put ![]() |

Not really, as the target properties itself would be different too and figuring that out just does not have any value but to reduce the volunteer's stress... and it's long known that BOINC does not like being watched. Certainly BOINC server side is not in anyway designed to predict run times on an individual result's basis, rather it works off the most recent results computed and assumes those going into the feeder next will be close to that.
