Errors with BOINC and Fedora 12?

I've installed Fedora 12 Linux 64bit on one of my PC's to test it out and I've gotten the BOINC client installed according to instructions I googled but it won't work properly.

I get these errors...........

Wed 03 Mar 2010 02:25:36 AM PST World Community Grid Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks
Wed 03 Mar 2010 02:25:36 AM PST World Community Grid Message from server: Resent lost result CMD2_0351-MYH3.clustersOccur-2DHX_A.clustersOccur_164_0
Wed 03 Mar 2010 02:25:36 AM PST World Community Grid [error] App version has unsupported platform i686-pc-linux-gnu
Wed 03 Mar 2010 02:25:36 AM PST World Community Grid [error] No application found for task: i686-pc-linux-gnu 614 ; discarding

It'll just keep doing that over and over.

Any clues as to what I need to do???

Also would anyone happen to know if CUDA can be set up to work in Linux too?

Re: Errors with BOINC and Fedora 12?

Specially for this Fedora 12 thing and any other Linux that has recent issue to set up identification (until WCG has their part cach-all coded), the FAQ in our most famous Start Here department, item 4O 4P on the index :D http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=21501

edit: CUDA + Linux, please consult BOINC developers forum . Think it just arrived in alpha test or may even have reached production.

Atleast Gpugrid and Milkyway has a linux/cuda-application listed, and if not mistaken someone has also compiled a seti-application that should be possible to find.

How to install CUDA on the other hand I've no idea, but there is some more info about this at the projects, and also what GPU's is supported in a particular project.

Re: Errors with BOINC and Fedora 12?

Thanks for the feedback.

Everything in Fedora looked the way it was supposed to at my end but I wound up fixing the issue by installing Ubuntu.

BOINC is working fine now.

Just have to figure out how to overcome the CUDA issue now.

Re: Errors with BOINC and Fedora 12?

I dont think this response of FAQ 4-O applies to the question about
No application found for task: i686-pc-linux-gnu 614 ; discarding

Perhaps you have a different suggestion.
Others have said they abandoned Fedora and installed Ubuntu to over come this roadblock. That is an unlikely option for me.

Thanks

Yes, the index line just above:
FAQ 4-N [error] App version has unsupported platform xxxxxxxxxxxxx Rev. Mar 3, 2010

Sekerob is using the list function of the forum. The problem is that when you add one topic the list items may be renumbered. I don't know if that was the case but it's always worth having a look around the given info if it does not match your expectation.
Or searching the index with your browser's "find" function.

Sorry for the trouble.
