To all members,
----------------------------------------Today we crossed a significant milestone. Our virtual community of World Community Grid volunteers has racked up a whopping 10,000 years of computer time! We have reached 10,000 years of run time in a mere 6 months. This incredible achievement has brought the Human Proteome Folding project to the 60 percent completion point. It would have taken the Institute for Systems Biology, the project's sponsor, nearly 100 years to accomplish this with their existing supercomputers -- or one processor 10,000 years! Think about what humanity was doing that long ago and how far we have come. Simply amazing. Congratulations and thank you for your contributions. We look forward to even greater accomplishments. ![]() Graphics by Graham [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 23, 2005 2:14:09 PM] |

Truly a remarkable achievement.
If we are currently at 60% after 6 months, allowing for the rate of growth over time, we will likely hit 100% in less than 3 months? ![]() |

Perhaps rather than killing the ants (see thread up) You could set them to work. (Re disc world) From The Barmy Brewer It sounds like a great idea, but before you know it they would be pushing for more sugar-water; bigger and dryer ant hills; tuition benefits for their little antlings ... Back to plan B - nuke 'em! ![]() |
