Wow - I got a lot of DDDT2 wu's today! Not the little half hour ones, either... I wasn't so lucky... just a single DDDT2 WU and it only ran 40 minutes.- D It's only antedoteal but it seems like more often than not, DDDT2 WUs seem to get released overnight, at least based on when I seem to get them. I don't get 10 or 20 at the same time. More like 1-3 at a time but over a period of time long enough to amount to a nice amount of WUs. Once I crunch what I got, I should be 2-3 days closer to silver. |

Marc, you think it's going to change after uni? Actually, if you're going after a career in computer forensics, you might do best to go to work for the government, either the military or intelligence areas. I suspect if you go the business route, you'll work as or for a consultantcy. My guess would be that it would be a feast or famine type of career. When a company has a need for this type of expertise, I would imagine it is to get answers to a situation and get them quickly. I don't know though. Hopefully, you know more about the career path than I do. Perhaps, you'll get plenty of chances to "play". Like ethical hackers, you might have fun doing something and then trying to see how that shows up, what evidence is left. Could be useful too. ![]() Yep - my plans are to work for either the state police, or with the Australian Federal Police (my preferred choice). Some sort of security analyst or something to do with that hopefully, the forensics side has way too much legal considerations/court dealings for me to be comfortable with. I've always preferred working for government, as it would give meaning to it (i.e. work for the community), rather than money. But I definitely see myself in this area of work in the future - am presently looking into doing a post-graduate to focus on the other security aspects. ![]() |

Good Morning Dave.. :) Good Morning MOT!
----------------------------------------As I contemplate why I still love my job (despite the rashes, fever, sore throat, runny nose, and ever popular abdominal pain), I noticed that for a bit there were more DDDT2 work units distributed.. i'm up to 19 verified.. :) Dr. Mike.. ![]() |

As I contemplate why I still love my job (despite the rashes, fever, sore throat, runny nose, and ever popular abdominal pain), That's nothing compared to the problems your patients have (that's a joke son....)I noticed that for a bit there were more DDDT2 work units distributed.. i'm up to 19 verified.. :) Dr. Mike.. I got a baker's dozen of DDDT2 WUs overnight, all on one machine. I'll be -only- 30 days short of silver when they are done. At least this won't be a repeat of GC or AC@H, where the projects ended when I was about 1 WU short of a badge for both.- D |

One computer alone got 34 of them, all of them will are less than an hour each, though. My web server is severely underpowered and it has 14 of them. Strange...
