Crash on Install

I'm using Windows XP SP3 32bit with the latest WCG client and whenever I install, it asks me to reboot, then shuts down, then on the way back up, goes into a rebooting cycle when it hits the login screen.

Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Crash on Install

The only way I've been able to fix this has been to boot into safe mode, go to system restore, and travel back in time.

Re: Crash on Install

There's a file in the root you need to delete... the install process should have done that on first boot... the name is... (if only I could remember, something with boot or delete in it... the creation date will give it away)

Should not self-boot though.

Re: Crash on Install

... found it, the file is named "rebootpending.txt" and sits in the BOINC data_dir. Delete it manually if it still exists.
