I looked at activity monitor when crunching those units and each core stayed around 80 percent. After dumping them and going to a different project, my cores are pegged at 98 to 100 percent so it has to be something with this project. Will give it a try again under snow leopard when I switch after then next update. Hopefully its a problem under leopard only. I will look into some way of monitoring the page files. Thanks.
