OS X Boinc manager not working

The BOINC Manager icon appears in the top right on the task bar and I can open it up, but it doesn't show up in the top left of the taskbar; for instance I have Firefox open then open the BOINC Manager it still says "Firefox" in the top left corner instead of changing to BOINC. Anyone know how to get these options?

All of that is in reference to the fact that this Mac device profile is set to run all the time even when the computer is in use; but for some reason it says "suspended because computer is in use" . So I'm guessing there is an option under the BOINC Manager to change it to wokr with the profile I set up online here.

Any help?

Re: OS X Boinc manager not working

What version of OS X and BOINC are you running? Did you recently upgrade OS X or BOINC or both?

Re: OS X Boinc manager not working

os x 10.5.8
boinc 6.2.18

i did just install the new BOINC but it was only because the old one has been doing the same thing since it started but i just never got onto fixing it until now. Both builds were doing the same thing.

The profile for this computer under profile manager has the settings to work at all times even when the computer is in use. It's like the boinc client here isn't getting the message of that for some reason, everything else seems to work fine on it, it downloads the processes and works when the computer is idle but it just won't change with the profile I give it on the profile manager online.

Re: OS X Boinc manager not working

Hello Phil210to11,
You may have set up a local profile on your computer that overrrides the web profile. If so, you should select 'Advanced' - 'Preferences' - 'Clear' to delete it. Or you could paste and post the Message tab after rebooting, so we could read all the startup information, such as which profile your computer is using.

Re: OS X Boinc manager not working

The Quick Fix in BOINC Manager is Advanced view (grid view) > Activity Menu > Run Always.
