confused unwanted computation suspension

I recently started running BOINC on both my work pc and home laptop, but I keep getting this msg:
14-12-2009 14:17:52||Suspending computation - no recent user activity

Ithought I had set all of my settings to use all of my system resources when I'm idle, but clearly I'm missing something....
Anybody got an idea?
TIA

Re: unwanted computation suspension

Take a look at your profile and reset the following.
Stop work after computer is idle for: xx minutes
If it is already set to 0 on the website then make sure you have it set properly on your local preferences. I typically only use the website preferences and "Clear" the locals.

Re: unwanted computation suspension

This option does not exist in any client yet... [don't ask me why]. It's driven by the preset profile Power Saving btw, which is the only one that has this field populated to kick in with a default of 20 minutes.

I have tried the solution specified above, but the suspension is still happening for no apparent reason.

Re: unwanted computation suspension

It does not seem like your client communicated with the servers to fetch a revised profile pref set:

15-12-2009 12:00:56||General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 10-Dec-2009 16:08:29)

Did you save the change to the Defaults profile, custom section [initially hidden so you need to hit that radio button]?

edit: So go My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profiles > Default > Custom

Re: unwanted computation suspension

Also,
15-12-2009 12:00:56||Reading preferences override file
indicates that you're using your local preferences file. Thus, I'd recommend clearing that for now, so that we're just using the preferences from the Server.

To clear these settings, open up your BOINC session in Advanced View, then select the "Advanced" pull down menu, then "Preferences", click the "Clear" button, and finally, click the "OK" button.

Re: unwanted computation suspension

plz go back to Snow Crash's post on where to change the mouse/keyboard idle setting, on the website!!!

edit: So go My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profiles > Default > Custom

Stop work after computer is idle for: xx minutes

Save and do an update in the client project view.
