After my screen savers starts my screen goes to the "crunching" screen. I have my screen saver on WCG screen saver, I use XP professional.
I try to press esc, crtl+alt+deletenothing works so I have to shut off my computer to get out of the graphic screen. |

I had this problem too. I never used the screen-saver before but just for fun I started it a few days ago when I upgraded to 6.2.28. The Fight Childhood Cancer screensaver was running when I moved my mouse and it froze- the animation stopped with the graphic still visible.
----------------------------------------Interestingly my machine wasn't frozen. It wouldn't respond to any mouse or keyboard inputs but I was able to access remotely and then it was okay without restarting. I shut off the screensaver and won't use it again, so I don't need help. I just wanted to provide the feedback. BTW I use windows XP with all the recent updates. -INAB  |

Try next time to just only and solely to hit the Esc key, though I understand that for tamarlyn this did not work. Also, installing as service, not as a regular user, will preclude the use of the SS, due limited permissions. From 6.3.x there is a fix to a seemingly very old mouse related bug i.e. the uplinger 6.10.18 should not exhibit this hanging/freezing.
----------------------------------------For now I've tested service install on W7 32+64 bit, all users, with password and blanking set in the BOINC SS of 5 minutes. I was unable to cause hang and in fact, never seen the graphics so smooth and crisp. Mind you, again I'm reading on Kaspersky acting up so make sure to also set BOINC.scr with the same excemptions as BOINC.exe
