Hi all !
----------------------------------------First of all sorry for my english, I'm French (joke) I have 2 questions. First, will ever HCMD use the processing power of GPUs ? Second, what cards will be supported ? Only recent ones like in other BOINC projects ? I'm eager to use my AGP 8x Radeon 9600 card lol. But will it (and other directx 9 / opengl 2.0 cards) be ever supported ? And how about linux portability ? Thanks for all answers !
3 devices running :
Toshiba Laptop : Ubuntu 12.04, BOINC 7.2.42 (x64), 1 thread HP Laptop : Ubuntu 16.04.1, BOINC 7.6.31 (x64), 1 thread MSI Desktop : Ubuntu 16.04.1, BOINC 7.6.31 (x64), 6 threads |

Answer for the first question (at least): https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ead,27885_offset,0#256891
----------------------------------------Edit: And this, from the Project's scientists themselves: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ad,24103_offset,60#255333 So I don't think there will be GPU crunching for this Project in the foreseeable future. BOINC is available for different varieties of linux, instructions for installing it can be found here .
Some flavours have a ready made package available to install via the package manager used to update or install software. I know Ubuntu and Kbuntu do. ![]() WCG runs well on a linux system. |

I´m using Windows, but I think Collatz Conjecture is a BONIC GPU Linux project and GPUGrid with Linux 64-bit.

Is there anywhere in the world a [BOINC] GPU Linux based project? Here's the latest summary and how to at http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=471 GPUGRID has at least a GPU application for 64-bit Linux, but not for 32-bit Linux. http://www.gpugrid.net/ They don't make it clear if they're also running Linux at their end. |
