mx172_00008: Just thought it was odd that this WU has 15 Inconclusive returns.

Re: 15 in quorum inconclusive

Interesting huh? I would think such a result would highlight a protein, or more likely, highlight some assumption or similar in the methodology being used.

Whatever, it would be nice to have a definitive answer from the investigators.

Re: 15 in quorum inconclusive

I can certainly look into this. But, if I understand the naming convention for the WCG there isn't anything odd about this.

mx172_00008

mx172 is our protein code.
8 most likely refers to the unique id given to this particular run in the Monte Carlo search.

Since we run Rosetta thousands of times for each protein, it would only grab my attention if this protein failed many times on many different runs. I'll chalk it up to a Rosetta bug or floating point error. We see a lot of failures, but considering the number of runs, the rate of return is very high.

Re: 15 in quorum inconclusive

Who wants to take bets: Quorum minimum 15 wherein 1 of 15 failed causing the validation test to go inconclusive, but which one is not known for sure. When result 16 comes in the validation is tried again. One will be marked invalid or in outside chance as error, fifteen marked valid.

Re: 15 in quorum inconclusive [RESOLVED]

lavaflow was on the right track ... one of the first 15 ended up being Invalid ... I only brought it up initially because I had never seen 15 Inconclusives.
