Re: max threads supported by BOINC?

I am pleased to hear you are working on this MM as I am sure your dedication to highend computing with a special eye on crunching will help make the tech be the best it can be when it finally makes it to retail. That really is a win for all of us!!!

Pecos: I don't think you'll see a review on this if it gets done.
The parts involved won't be at retail till 2011 at least and having me post benchmarks might shall we say piss off the cpu manufacturer. No need to make enemies.
I just want to get the work done and I get the side benefit of working with new tech. A win-win for me.

Okay

Guess I'll just wait a couple more years to hear or see this Monster. biggrin

And save my pennies so I can maybe get one also. wink

You will need more pennies than you can carry. Better to carry a box of hundreds

Boy do you have that right.
I did some math on this last night trying to figure out what just the board, cpu's and memory would cost and came up with just over $10,000.00 USD..
No, I am not paying that, not even anywhere near that.
I'm just a 'po white boy" from New Hampshire
Well. not poor but I'm not on the Forbes 5000 either! laughing
I was looking at JUST the cost of memory and that is scary.
At a minimum I'll need 12x1 gig DDR3-1333 ECC REG and thats app a $100.00/stick..
Then there's the 1000+W PSU needed.. crying
