Hi,
I was wondering if it is at all possible to shift the project files (i.e. the files that contain the data my computer starts crunching through after downloading them) to another computer via CD, crunch these files on the secondary computer, and then swap the files back to the initial computer for uploading on the World Community Grid database. My reasoning for this is that I have a number of old 386 & 486 machines sitting around doing nothing, but they do not have internet ready components (i.e. modem / LAN card). I was wondering if someone could let me know which files to copy from the initial computer's hard drive after downloading them from the World Community Grid database, and then where to place the 'post-crunched' files on the internet ready computer after they've been crunched on the 486 machine, for successful uploading onto the WCG servers. Any help would be greatly appreciaed. Cheers, Tony Crouch |

I'm not sure a 386 or 486 would be able to run the UD agent at all.
I think the requirements are a Pentium class CPU and Windows 98 at the bare minimum. |

And enough ram! It would take a cpu like this months to complete a work unit!
