Whenever I try to access the Project Manager or the Device Manager sections of the site I always encounter the following error:
----------------------------------------The application is unavailable at this time, please try again later. This has happened 100% of the time since I joined in late August 09. Is this a known error? No one else on the forums seems to have mentioned it. I am using the latest IE browser. Is it unsupported in some of these website applications? Is there any particular time when you're attempting to access these areas?, I ask, as at approx. midnight UTC, these areas DO become unavailable - due to the system recalculating all the stats. This outage, generally takes in the region of 1 hour - sometimes more, sometimes less. So, this may be a factor.
----------------------------------------NB. Until recently, this outage used to happen at midday UTC as well - although now, due to WCG upgrading their Database, the midday update can be performed without an outage. So, it may simply be due to the time you're accessing these areas. Try at various different times, and see whether that makes a difference. ![]() |

Yeah, I thought of that too. It doesn't seem to make a difference. I've tried from Firefox as well and it doesn't seem to make a difference. In addition, I have tried from over 3-4 different machines just to see if one is suffering an error and all have had the same result.
Is there anything special I need to be running client-side to access these areas? More or less I'm just confused. :x |

Additional question: Is there a certain port that needs to be open/forwarded to access these sections?

Sorry, could you please try again once more now to make sure? The midday tasks are definitely over now and the site is answering fine. From the timestamp of your post it could still have been close to the critical period.
----------------------------------------Otherwise I cannot think of any particular condition which would forbid a member to access these functions if he is logged in correctly and if the secure connection is working fine, which must be the case since your clients return results without problems and you can post to the forum. Read you later. Jean. |

I am getting this message too when I stress the server by opening a bunch of stats tags all at once, but it is not doing so for all tags and when I retry, all is fine.
----------------------------------------So it seems that this is the message whenever the server is not able to satisfy your request, and if it does it always for you there might be something weird specifically for your membername in the database. I'll ask the techs to have a look at your records there. Thanks for your patience, and stay tuned. Jean. |

Thank you for looking into this. I used to use the GridRepublic account manager and had errors trying to synchronize the accounts with WCG, but since a few weeks ago I've stopped using that, removed WCG from GridRepublic's database for my master account, and started using the latest WCG BOINC software. Regardless, I am not quite sure how using an account manager would effect me directly logging into the site (I can understand not synching correctly via the manager itself as WCG is unique among most projects).
If there was an issue, I probably caused it using an Account Manager originally. Thank you for your time, though. Mike |

I accessed it for about... 30 seconds and at least got to choose some options for my device profiles. However, I am now getting the same error. Perhaps it is intermittent now. I couldn't select an individual device (same error) but I could access My Projects and My Devices and change my default profile device settings.
