I'm just on the outskirts of Kelowna. I've got a nasty dose of arthritis and Chilliwack is just too damp for my body. 3 Quads will definitely boost things a tad. I'm going as good as I'm able in WCG but my BOINC will improve a bit more when I bring a recently acquired ATI 4890 online to do some crunching. Those GPU's certainly do go through a healthy number of work units in a day. I'm only running three 9800 series right now and they produce three times the credits my PC's do and I have a dozen of them. ![]() |

As Orakk said...we aren't far from the day when we will only need CPU's to control the GPU's that will do all the crunching...
----------------------------------------I've got one ATI 4850 that runs 20 times what 15 CPU Cores can produce combined!!!!! (52K/day vs 2.6K/day) GPU + 750 watt PSU cost me less than$200 ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Sport at Dec 24, 2009 4:17:26 AM] |
