confused Clean install of Win7

If I do a clean install of Win7 (currently running win7 RC7100) how can I copy across my currenly running already downloaded work units? I do have a seperate partition that won't be touched. I think I have a few options like ticking get no more work but i have a ten day buffer and don't want to have to wait that long to play with my new toys :-)

I also thought of just aborting all the work units but that seems a bit harsh given the ten days buffer.

No you can't. Upgrade from Win7 RC to the release version requires a clean install. If you don't have the patience to let your queue complete, you will have to abort them or just wipe them out with the install. Someone else will run them. Best practice is to do a wipe disk then a clean install of the Win7 release version.

Cheers!

There's no reason to wipe-out the BOINC-folder. Just do:
1: Verify the path of the BOINC data-directory, this is displayed in one of the few 1st. lines when starting BOINC. The default on vista & win7 is c:\programdata\boinc
2: Report any finished work.
3: In advanced view, select Activity, "Network activity suspended".
Also selecting "Suspend" can be a good idea.
4: Exit BOINC, make sure boinc.exe is stopped (check in Task Manager).
5: Copy the data-directory to another location. Note, c:\programdata is a hidden folder in case uses the default data-directory-location.
6: Install a clean copy of windows.
7: Copy over the data-directory to wherever you wants it located.
8: Install BOINC, making sure to select correct location of data-directory.
9: Start BOINC, if no immediate errors, select "Run based on preferences" (or "Run always"). If no problems, also enable network-connection again.

It's important to copy-over the data-directory before installing BOINC, to make sure the access-rights is correctly set on the data-directory.
