Hi!
I'm running Boinc on Win XP. When I right click and exit Boinc from the system tray it keeps running using almost all the cpu. I have to open task manager and kill the processes in order to free up the cpu. Both boinc.exe and two different project processes are running. Did a quick search for this problem, but couldn't find any threads. Any ideas? |

Hopefully this is fixed in the next version, but what is yours? Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Before exiting the manager first visit the BM Advanced menu and select Shut down connected client ... This forces the close of the service.

My Boinc version is 6.2.28 which is the newest one according to the download page.
Shut down connected client seems to have done the trick. Thanks a million ![]() |

Try this: in BOINC manager go to Advanced>>Options>>General and click "enable exit dialog". The next time you shut down BOINC, a pop up will appear, just put a check beside "stop running the science applications" and also "remember this decision".

The point is that even when one ticks the box on exit, for quite a few the service keeps running.
