Hi Sekerob,
similar situation in our team on position 2. Many of our crunchers changed to WCG for that challenge. The daily records for the WCG contribution nearly tripled in the last days. We crunch with everything that has a processor: PC's, TV sets, navigation systems, cd players, coffee machines and computer controlled dishwashers. Even the control units of our cars' Antilock Braking Systems are migrated to BOINC for that challenge BTW: Good to have you are back in the forum! Greetings |

Just wondering when all is said and done. How much work did we do? 1 year 2? Looking at more than 150.000.000 WCG Credits produced in this challenge, I'd think we made well over 100 years. Our team contributed an average of more than 2 years daily during the challenge. [Edit 1 times, last edit by roundup at Dec 9, 2009 7:04:47 AM] |

100 years is an estimate of the total of this challenge, it is not the additional production due to this challenge. Except a few teams like yours which bring more power during challenges most teams at WCG are WCG-only, so whether they participate to a challenge or not, they are full speed on WCG projects anyway. The only change for these WCG-only teams is when they participate to a challenge focused on a specific project, but the 5th Birthday Challenge was an all-project one.

Except a few teams like yours which bring more power during challenges most teams at WCG are WCG-only, ... Cheers. Jean. Indeed, Jean! Look at this graph of our WCG team statistics and guess when the Birthday Challenge took place ! There was definitely an additional production due to the challenge. But you see even more in this statistic: There is also a remarkable number of crunchers who continue to crunch for WCG now - even crunchers who never contributed to WCG before .[Edit 1 times, last edit by roundup at Dec 9, 2009 5:36:37 PM] |
