confused Forum spam [Resolved]

I'm trying to decide whether to show my email address on my forum profile or just list it in my sig (with spaces).

Have any of you had any problems with spam after allowing your email address to be shown?

Re: Forum spam

The SIG has a limit of 250 bytes, for future reference.

You will, if you haven't before. Anything that a spider can read is suspect, like a guestbook. Google for your e-mail address and you will see what is out there. In a webpage, there's a way to split it out with javascript, and still have a functioning e-mail link after the script puts it back together dynamically.

Re: Forum spam

I wasn't thinking about a functioning link. It would be the old copy and paste kind. Like...

myemail at myISP dot com

Re: Forum spam

Just do it with your profile. It will only show if people are signed in. Look at mine at the bottom of this post. I have never had any spam at all. :)

Re: Forum spam

I've decided to get it a shot... with a special email account.

Thanks all.
