Why are awarded credits so varied on the same WU with the same run time?
----------------------------------------This one has a credit range of 25.0 to 245.7 and all machines took just over 7 hours: R00367_ b852d9cb20ac627e55a83c78a757b4f4_ 03_ 0-- 617 Valid 10/10/09 12:30:32 10/11/09 02:20:27 7.07 45.2 / 44.3Edit: Now explained, but how do we see which processors did which result? The credit system seems to be completely broken, not to mention unfair... Hi CanoeBeyond! When things are so obviously, constantly and steadily abnormal and unfair without anybody complaining there must be one reason for things to be that way, no? All Rice WUs are running the same time (currently 7 hours) whatever the machine which runs them. During that time, obviously, a severely overclocked high tech processor and a good old Pentium II will not have produced the same amount of results, so it is indeed fair that they are not rewarded with the same amount of credits. Have a look at this post of the Start Here/FAQ forum for more details. Credit computed for Nutritious Rice for the World You can certainly find other threads on this subject in the "Nutritious Rice for the World" forum. Happy crunching! Jean. |

Maybe just a very poorly optimized application for the Phenom processors. I deleted Rice from my projects. No sense wasting CPU time. Is there a way to be able to see what other machines / processors crunch the other WUs? Thanks. |

Cangebeyond,
If you go to statistics tab then by selecting on the left column and clicking on a project under each project is listed the number of points per hour of crunch time. This is an averaged number for all machines working on that project. For your machines in particular you can take the total number of hours you have crunched and devide that into the total credit points to calculate the number of points per hour of crunch time. If running multiple machines this will be an average. If highly motivated but using a shoter time frame you can go to results section select a valid result from any one of your machines for a certain project and perform the same calculations as above to determine pts/hr of crunch time and the most and least efficient projects. For me HFCC is the most efficient with over a 100 pts/hr and HPF2 is the least with around 60 pts/hr. As a badge hunter but also interested in staying ahead of the pack I am running HFCC while tring to achieve the Saphire badge for HPF2 to try and have a higher average point total per hour than if I ran HPF2 alone but once there I am going to focus on the higher rewarding projects. Hope this helps though you probably figured it out by now! |

No idea why, well I do but I keep it a secret, on all my devices RICE is by far the highest credit granting 99 out of 100 having an uptick of 10-15%, sometimes more as can be seen in the OP result list, quite a few seeing this as their machines complete more seeds in 7 hours than the average of those in the same quorum.
----------------------------------------For those that have not found the 15 thousand links to the supplementary charts on the forums and the sticky Supplemental Performance Charts on the Start Here forum, I think a skill ... this shows the running means per project hour.
