DHCP

Hi there

I have installed the agent at my workplace (using http proxy) and BOINC is causing network problems:

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server)...

Followed by:

Your computer has lost the lease to its IP address..

Our network lease time is around 3 days. I leave my pc on all the time and whilst I don't lose connection every time, it happens often.

When I disable BOINC there are no connection problems.

Thanks in advance

Re: DHCP

Don't know, I've got DHCP active on the router, BUT I've pre-assigned IP addresses configured so randomly connected devices a random IP and the fixed devices always the same.

Can you have a look in the BOINC Local prefs "Disconnect when done" I've got that box ticked. I guess that whilst BOINC is communicating, indeed the IP can't be renewed, so there will always be chance moments when that happens right when the IP lease expires.
