Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Yay marysduby and it's still working biggrin

The next improvement will be to filter the rogue outlier

I think I will (temporarily) kick overboard any weather station that is 8C higher than the previous MAX temp and similarly one with a MIN temp of more than 8C below the previous min. This should eliminate the temporary "finger troubles"

I think an 8C slew rate is highly unlikely and therefore probably an erroneous reading

More or less? Can a temperature in a spot increase by 8C or decrease by 8C in an hour over and above (or below) the max/min temps you can see?

At the moment the full range of -99C to +99C is considered valid (given a 2 digit METAR value)

Roll on the rolling daily average temperature. The last time I had that amount of data the Globe was cooling, as we approach the NH Winter, at the rate of 0.04C/Hr

The 8C slew rate filter works a treat as http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/DAOB.html gratefully obliged with a 99C - that's the gap at 6am

and yet still looking good

going down at 0.05C/hr now into NH Winter

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

I did say my broadband was dodgy in the evening laughing

Sunday is the worst !

I'm out in the sticks at the mo and the backhaul from the local exchange is saturated most evenings - it must be a piece of damp string.

It will be ok when it goes co-lo in Acapulco

hope this gets through worried

No matter how much the science (claimed) is discredited along with the polar ice caps refusing to melt away or the Hurricanes failing to get worse or the coldest NH winter for 30 years. Large area's without any reasonable Summer this year. Coldest SH Winter for 20 years

Let's not let any of this get in the way of another expensive knees up

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Hi MD

Here's a couple of cryptic figures

4,773,281 and 5,797,031

Which one is the largest by over 21.4%?

biggrin

To most it's the second... apart from those sitting in that crowd above laughing

I'd best watch out for that guy with the red button worried
hypnotized
shhh
