Hello - I have BOINC 6.6.38. It was working but now I have no proejcts in my list. When I try to select a project, I get an error message that says something about "cannot connect to client". How do I fix this problem?

Sometimes in the past when this has happened to me, a complete "restart" has worked, might be worth a try! |

Tony, once you've rebooted your computer & router (just to be sure that there's nothing lurking there), could you copy the contents right at the beginning of the BOINC messages tab into this thread - as that may give us some clue as to what's going on.
----------------------------------------BTW, when you're talking about selecting a project, I'm presuming that, in this context, you're talking about selecting "World Community Grid", not one of the 'sub-projects' within WCG (such as FA@H, or HCMD2), as these 'sub-projects' are selected from within the WCG website itself. ![]() |

I rebooted my PC and router - no change.
Attached are screen shots of the 2 errors I get. The 1st is when the BOINC Manager 1st starts. The 2nd is when I go to Tools->Attach to project... Sorry, I cannot figure out hhow to attach files to a message. The 1st says "World Community Grid - BOINC Manager is not able to connect to a World Community Grid client. Would you like to try again?" The 2nd says "World Community Grid - BOINC Manager is not currently connected to a World Community Grid client. Please use the 'Advanced\Select Computer...' menu option to connect up to a World Community Grid client. To connect up to your local conputer please use 'localhost' as the host name". |

One other thing. I reinstalled 6.6.38 from 6.10.something, thinking that the beta version was giving me the error.
Also if I go to the WCG website, it knows about me and my projects. |

Sorry, I cannot figure out hhow to attach files to a message. TonyK73, You cannot attach a file to a message in this forum. Simply display the message list in BoinncMgr and use Copy All and paste directly in your next message. This forum accepts long posts, and you should not have hundreds of message lines anyway, considering the problem you describe. Read you later. Jean. |

Did you uninstall old version before downgraded? If not, you'll likely have a screwed-up installation, try and re-run the installer and choose the "Repair"-option. ![]() "I make so many mistakes. I ran repair and that seems to have fixed my problems, thanks. I can now see projects, etc.
