shock P4 1.5Ghz = Athlon64 3500+

Why does this program compare my A64 3500+ (S939 2.2Ghz 512k L2) to a P4 running at 1.5Ghz? My Cpu should easily be two or mabey even three times faster than a P4 1.5Ghz but this program is saying they are about equal which I refuse to belive is true as every other benchmark I run shows a very different story. Is this a bug in the program or are P4's just better for this kind of work?

I think it changes when you completed your first result and returned that to the server!

My P4 3.4 is now showing 220

Re: P4 1.5Ghz = Athlon64 3500+

When I started yesterday, my athlonxp 2400 was listed at ~100, after completing my first work unit, its got a rating of 193. I'm not sure how the ratings are generated. Perhaps a database stores ind processor types as they join, and averages statistics as they go, perhaps yours was the first 64 3500 and therefore started out at the predetermined "average" score of 100. Just a guess.
I would definitely expect to see an increase in your numbers, however. Let us know how they turn out! (Particularly since I'm thinking of building a new computer! )

biggrin Re: P4 1.5Ghz = Athlon64 3500+

Can you answer me this, why is your 2400 at 193 and my 64 3200 at 173? my sys specs are Epox 8HDA3+ mobo, AMD 64 3200+ Clawhammer 1m L2, 1 GIG Kingston ddr 400, no OC. With this pc I can get 63 FPS out of Doom 3 @1024x768 Ultra high. I havent installed this on my XP64 boot though, but I dont think thats the problem. This ap does run CPU @ 100% though.

devilish cow cow cow cow cow cow

My AMD 2600+ Barton Mobile (Twiki) is tweaked to 2500MHz running
@ a cool 129 f on air
showing a Prosser score of 251 (Same as at UD)
All my Barton Chips score close to their MHz.
Lets see 2 1/2 times 1500=
Intel pIV 4.0
