RICE BETA test Aug 26 2009

Greetings,

We have completed the alpha tests for a new batch of work units from the researchers. They ran well on our test machines and we are going to send them out over beta shortly to test on the very diverse set of computers. There is no code change in the application. This BETA is to test to make sure the new work units are properly formed as some of the processes the researchers use to create them have changed.

There will not be any children work units as just the parent work units will be needed to prove the work is running properly. Once beta is complete we will be releasing these into production and get the RICE project back up to normal speed.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

The work units that are going out do not have the BETA prefix as they usually are supposed to. Those paying attention will be able to identify them by a shorter workunit deadline than usual. Our apologies for any confusion this may cause.
