8-10 results per a day? That's a bit optimistic in my opinion.
I think the issue lies in that alot of people, me included, that do WCG do various other BOINC related projects. (I'm in Rosetta, and Climate Prediction) or even something different like Folding@Home. |

How many members we have is important BUT how much work we do per computer is even more important. As an example, a member may have a single core computer and another member may have a computer with an Intel i7 CPU in it. The Intel i7 will do MUCH more work than the single core CPU computer. The i7 can handle 8 jobs at a time while the single core CPU can only handle one job at a time. In order for stats to be "meaningful", should we "categorize" the different computers that members own and are running as well? If half of the World Community Grid members had computers that were equipped with an Intel i7 CPU then I would strongly suspect that the "results per day" would "shoot through the roof".
We can look at "growth" in two different ways. One way is "member growth" and the other way is "computer speed growth" per member. Well, you all have a nice weekend. Bob F |
