ErikaT, your installation was possibly the reason of that sudden forum outage (we have to fill in lots of blanks when something 'unannounced' happens
---------------------------------------- )Welcome to the WCG forums.

So what is this thread talking about? I am presuming that Sekerob is initiating ErikaT to the WCG Admin staff, by saying that she was the cause of the short forum outage that happened yesterday... As to ErikaT - welcome , I hope that your secondment onto the WCG Admin staff, means that the Grid is growing and that a whole new raft of projects are due to be launched ![]() BTW, CA's, as I'm sure you'll have a comprehensive list of the forum names of the WCG Admin & Tech staff, what about including them on the following Wiki page Forum titles As far as I can see, we have the following forum members who fall into these categories; World Community Grid Admin bbover3 CIH TKH ErikaT World Community Grid Tech Alther armstrdj Bhdolph knreed nelsoc uplinger Viktors (that is, unless some have left/moved onto other roles) Doing this, may give people an indication as to how small and tight-knit the team supporting WCG are ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by gb009761 at Aug 12, 2009 9:09:53 AM] |

Thanks for clarifying that bbover3
---------------------------------------- So, just to emphasise as to how small the team is (and hence, the tight squeeze on the available resources etc.), it appears as though there's only 3 WCG Admin staff and 5 WCG techs. Knowing this, may just pacify the clamour for constant changes/improvements that I see requested on this forum. I sensed the team was small, but not that small ![]() ![]() |

Hi,
----------------------------------------I already mentioned this fact several times in the past, but I would like again to thank warmly the technical and administrative staff for the amazing good work its members provide day after day. The stability and reliability of WCG is particularly impressive in comparison to the few people who operate this infrastructure. Thank you for everything and enjoy ! Cheers, Yves --- PS: I think that it could be a good idea to have one page on WCG web site presenting more closely the staff members (including the Community Advisors). |

Thank you very much for the compliments. It is amazing how much gets done with a small dedicated and focused team, which includes the Community Advisors.
In general we would rather not toot our horn publicly. So thanks for the suggestion, but we'd rather not go public on the website. |

In general we would rather not toot our horn publicly. So thanks for the suggestion, but we'd rather not go public on the website. You may not wish to 'go public' on a website - and that's your perogative, although it is handy to know as to how small the team really is. At least now, when people are clamouring for changes to be made, we've got a very reasoned arguement as to why things have to be prioritised ![]() ![]() |

Your request v.v. the Wiki link, well, roll up your sleeve and make the change there. The wiki capo will make sure it's all shaped as to how s/he likes it.
----------------------------------------As for profiles, you can do featuring there too by creating a registration there and fill out your own talk page. Maybe our future forum software will allow that too and interface to the WCG Facebook application that has existed already for quite some time. BUT, the reason of this thread was to say hello to ErikaT, after seeing her first post in the Member news.

Sek, now that I've got confirmation that there are indeed, just 3 admin and 5 tech staff, the wiki page has been updated with their forum 'handles' (this information, is publicly available via checking the forums - particularly the "read only" ones). As per bbover3's request, there's no more details other than these (not that I have any further details anyhow).
----------------------------------------The suggestion for the CA's to update this page, was made with the assumption that you, indeed, already knew the WCG staff members involved, and were kept up-to-date with staff movements. ![]() |
