Re: GreenSun Energy LTD

If they are going to offer something under 1 USD per Watt then I'm certainly buying it. Nowadays in Poland the price is over 6 USD per Watt.
Still there is a huge cost of batteries, converters etc. :/.

Re: GreenSun Energy LTD

I would be willing to pay slightly more knowing that I would be independent with my energy production and knowing that it was not adding to my carbon footprint. Solar technology has advanced so much in the past years, It will be amazing to look back in 25 years at these current "marvels" and shake our head. Good post Israel!

Solar Panel Drops to $1 per Watt: Is this a Milestone or the Bottom for Silicon-Based Panels?

http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/research/4306443.html
A solar power milestone was reached on Tuesday when First Solar Inc brought its manufacturing costs for solar panels down to $1 per watt. But a study from the University of California and Lawrence Berkeley National Labs suggests that this might be the bottom for a price-point—if solar power is ever going to scale up to become competitive with other forms of energy. Here are the new challenges facing the solar industry and some suggestions to make a brighter future.

So. Calif Boeing Unit Breaks World Solar Cell Record Efficiency of 41.6 percent

Dr. David Lillington, President of Spectrolab, holds a solar wafer, which will be eventually cut into individual concentrator solar cells. ...
The cell can convert 41.6 percent of concentrated sunlight into electricity. The local team takes the record away from the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, whose previous world record cell was able to convert 41.1%.
