My system keeps reseting the boinc clock to 2 months ahead.
----------------------------------------PC clock is correct. The last time I got the problem, I found that the boinc system had suspended itself for the rest of the day, until I reset it. Any ideas? Thanks, Patrick ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by pcwr at Aug 4, 2009 9:16:24 AM] |

BOINC directly feeds of the system time so you might want to check that in the BIOS during boot up if not done already (your PC clock?).
----------------------------------------What does the statistics page in BOINC tell you as end date after you've corrected the system time? What client version? And yes, if the time is 2 months ahead, WCG will think your client will never return the work in time with a 10 day deadline, so wont give anything.

Also, is the system tray clock/date also into the future? Is you OS set up to pick up time/date information from the internet of some time synchronisation server that's off?

Hello pcwr,
What version of BOINC? How long has this been happening? Did it start when you installed this version? Or did it start when you got this computer system? I think the problem probably lies in the system time and that BOINC is just bringing it to your attention. Lawrence |

Last 6 months after no resets whilst the PC is still running. When I check the system date/clock, it is correct. Clock is not dependant on any external source. Not a problem, I just stop the service, edit the xml files, and restart the service. Patrick ![]() |

Pass. If the hardware clock shows the right time and the OS shows the right time, BOINC should do too. Not finding anything on Google, or not found the proper phrasing to get a related answer. Always an exact amount of time in the future? What language is the OS in?
----------------------------------------Editing XML's? Which ones and which values?

Editing XML's? Which ones and which values? Basically do the following: delete all info in statistics....xml edit client_state.xml remove time_stats and net_stats info sections edit client_state_prev remove time_stats and net_stats info sections This can only be done if boinc is not running. What about this underlined part of my question. We see on BOINCstats you crunch for the UK, so probably it's all in English

I'm just curious, in the BOINC messages tab, right at the beginning, what does it show? (I'm thinking in particular, as to how many hours the Local Time is showing from UTC)
