issues with NRW WU

Hi,

since a while i'm experiencing errors (till now 3) and a project blocked with the description "running" but no progress.

Anyone has some information about it?

Thank you!

Re: issues with NRW WU

hi,

got a start up BOINC message log for us to assess the system?

At what % and what CPU time does the zero progress sit? Is the process using CPU time when you look in the task manager?

Re: issues with NRW WU

Yes,

- exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)

Nasty bugger. Looking at the seed counts and the speed that they normally complete at, the result probably hung already in the first minutes. That's why I'm mostly running 6.2.28, but when wanting to run RICE I switch to one of the other of 5 installs on this test platform, 5.10.45. Not figured out why that is, but it's coincidentally the same laptop maybe, Sony Vaio VGN?

What is your AV software? Avast or AVG maybe? Have you excluded the BOINC data dir C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC from scanning?

But on a hunch looked on google and found http://forum.bullguard.com/forum/5/Status-code--1073741819_39569.html and going to see if indeed my laptop might have a long hidden worm.

Edit: No, not here but bullguard has more on this error to coincide with slowishness of the PC http://forum.bullguard.com/forum/10/Servicesexe-terminated-with-st_68889.html

Re: issues with NRW WU

Hi,

In this PC (HP nc6400) I have McAfee, and no, I didn't exclude BOINC data.

What to do then? Modify preferences of the AV?

Thanks

Re: issues with NRW WU

Yes, see my earlier post with the data dir path

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC

to exclude in McAfee (you'll have to find out yourself where in that AV). It's save, but do do a full system scan.
