Jack007, they "run parallel" because the speed of your processor is relatively high. A lesser CPU would give you the same years, but less points. The years depends on core/thread count.
Low clocked multi-cores tend to give high years and get less points. It is really the points that count - this will become more apparent over the next few years with low clocked 8 and 12 core CPUs being released. Should reach 48cores per CPU within 3years, but some might be clocked as low as 1.0GHz! PS. Your Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) = 9 years. |

Boy, did I mess up
---------------------------------------- [Mar 9, 2010 11:59:57 AM] This morning, passed 10 years Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 10:004:11:41:28 (#3,719) Sekrob said something in another post -having four badges change color at the same time "because I can"... I was thinking HFCC and HPF to Blue, HCMDD and HCC to Green. I'm intrigued by a one update Quad Ker-Bluie, that'd be fun- especially since I can't see getting another chance at a four color change any time soon Help Fight Childhood Cancer 1:350:17:28:06 (paused) Human Proteome Folding - 1:154:10:51:08 Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - 0:317:04:00:34 Help Conquer Cancer 0:253:03:39:24 -----------------End of 9 March............. So, evening of March 5- Had two windows open looking at "My Statistics, well for I don't know how long I was looking at the old one and not paying attention to the date. and thought I had plenty of time to swap around projects. Also, moved some resources to a profile that had HCMD and didn't realize it so I know pv's going to go blue on the next update so... Now I'm at Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 12:167:16:08:09 (#2,862) Help Fight Childhood Cancer - 1:363:09:15:12 Human Proteome Folding - 1:345:08:55:47 Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - 1:362:01:17:56 Help Conquer Cancer - 1:139:12:58:23 going to push HFCC and (hopefully) a double blue in the morning, followed by another double in the future. So it goes. Edit-[and got them] Help Fight Childhood Cancer Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Crunch on ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by pramo at Apr 6, 2010 1:11:45 PM] |

Well, at least you managed HFCC and HCMD2
You were not far off HPF2, but it is hard to tell how long a task will sit in PV, so I think that was a good effort! Perhaps the availability of DDDT2 tasks will surge & allow you to get that blue around the time you reach the HCC blue. - My points rank 959 |

Thanks
---------------------------------------- I messed up the juggle. looking at an old results window, put some resources into a profile that I thought was HCC but was HCMD- Just not paying attention all around so I'll just leave this here for myself: <-- Closest to a dunce-cap smiley I could find. When I realized what had happened I was lucky to be able to go for (and get) the double DDD2 I'm just going to let myself be pleasantly surprised when My points rank 2,326. looks like you're 906? See you in maybe... who knows! Cheers ![]() |
