Jean Pierre, when I open this thread, It happens that I see always your first post. I gave it a look and saw that you started it two and half years ago in July 2009.
----------------------------------------Your ranking was then at 220. Just by curiosity I checked your present rank that stands at 279. More or less stable or a slow loss of 2 ranks per month in average. Then I checked Jack007 again my terrible curiosity. First post was in August 2009 and rank was 8496. In 29 months the improvement was of nearly 265 ranks per month. Jack you are running fast  Last but not least I checked for myself. First post was December 2009 and my rank was 10'249. Today rank is 66 and that means for 25 months an improvement of about 407 ranks per month. What is interesting though is that as time will pass my average will go down as I can only improve very slowly. So over time even if we generate very different daily amounts of points we will converge to similar values, simply because we will stabilize somewhere each of us. At very different total number of points level but in terms of progress in the end we will be even.   |

I was 64, and after a lot of efforts hoping to go to 63, but no a kind of cruise missile (posting 4 Million ppd) wizzed past me and there I am back to 65.
---------------------------------------- My feeling is that to beat those heavy crunchers made of hundreds of devices the only solution for us is through GPU crunching. When GPU crunching will be available to WCG then the top crunchers may not be the "institutional" crunchers but well the "individual" ones. |
