Is there a way to suspend while a certain program is running?

As in, is there a file I can add program names to in order to suspend the client while they are running rather than running back and hitting suspend every hour while using them?

Yes, from version BOINC v 6.3.x onwards you can add a special pause line to the cc_config.xml for each program that causes BOINC to suspend until that/those program(s) are unloaded.

But, in the activity menu you can suspend computing also indefinitely.

If you open BOINC Manager in the advanced view, and select "Suspend" in the activity menu, it will remain suspended until you change it.

The button you have been using is misnamed, it is just a snooze feature.

A later version of BOINC does offer the feature you request, but I don't recommend you use it.

Yes, if you doesn't already have a cc_config.xml in the BOINC data-directory, add it, and use a text-editor to add to this file:

<cc_config>
<options>
<exclusive_app>TheNameofYourApplication</exclusive_app>
</options>
</cc_config>

If you wants to exlude more applications, just add extra lines with
<exclusive_app>TheNameofYourApplication#1</exclusive_app>
<exclusive_app>TheNameofYourApplication#2</exclusive_app>

... and so on...

Not sure, but it's possible the name is case-sensitive, and you'll also need to include *.exe

Also note, you'll need to run BOINC-client v6.3.13 or later, meaning if you're running the customized WCG-version, you must upgrade. To upgrade, download from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php
