It's great to see the new badges.

My request: a last badge: the 10 cpu-year badge :)

Why stop at 10 years? How about 5 year, 10 year, and 20 year badges? I'm sure that a lot of people on the team that I'm on already have 10 years on some projects and probably some that have more than 20 years.

one step at a time...

these new badges are nice sorry that some of you are almost all blue already.. personally with my small group of computers im shooting for green's and reds....

nice to see the badges though and for all you all blue or mostly blue well that now shows that you produced that many results ... personally i don't think i will get any blue badges anytime soon so im not worries about blue+ badges yet

Yes sir. You're correct. One step at a time. I didn't mean to rush anyone.
However, I would like to see badges for 5 years, 10 years, and 20 (or 25) years though. Past that, maybe 50 years and then 100 years. My thinking on that is that it shows dedication. A lot of people jump on a new project long enough to get a gold badge. One year isn't too difficult either (I think it should take 1 year for gold). Five years (and longer) is definitely showing commitment to the project. Even if things stay the same (as far as badges are concerned) I'll keep doing what I have been. Some of my badges will change colors. Some of them won't. Some of the projects have ended so what I have in those projects is all I'll ever have. The Energy Wasting Project most likely will not go beyond gold as every time I've checked the forums I see that that project is STILL (more than 6 months since I quit crunching it) producing a LOT of errors as that forum is FULL of post about errors. Why WCG is still allowing a project that wastes so much CPU time to run is beyond me.

Re: another badge

The CEP errors aren't really that bad now. I mean, I personally have never had any but yno, all i shot for there was bronze. And they can't find all of the errors without trying the software in the first place.
Enough of me defending CEP though.
I think the new badges are a nice advancement, especially for those who only dedicate to certain projects since be4 all you could get was gold and now it really shows commitment or extreme computing power to get something like saphire.

Re: another badge

unfortunatly there are too many projects i want to work on and not enough computer power... I want to cure everything ...

the new badges are helping me I think... Yes its going to take a few months for me to get a Sapphire but im going to get at least 1.

Wish i could get blue on all projects or better but i know i wont be able to... so im doing what i can to get a cure for everything 1 program at a time

Re: another badge

I think a large (double size), combined badge would be a good idea, for all projects combined. It could start at a year and work up to level at 2,5,10,25,50 years.

With new Octocore CPU's coming out in the next year or so, (with Hyperthreading to 16 cores biggrin ) The amount of run time, and research done will grow exponentially.
