Why are the credits so low for doing FAAH I get around 81 credits for 9 hrs work, that is 9 credits per hour yet when I do Seti I got around 34 credits per hour. So is there any chance of these being upgraded to the Seti marks?

WCG has no opti apps of any form and strictly applies Cobblestone rules, or as close an adherence to those rules as possible. Other than that, project credit comparison has become truly impossible.

. . . project credit comparison has become truly impossible. Any discussion of cross-project parity usually turns into a flame war. . . .if any project should be the standard, it should be WCG. ![]() ![]() |

madmac, credits can't be compared between different BOINC projects. BOINC projects are totally independent, and can grant anything they want. Some BOINC projects suffer from "credit inflation" - when they get a more efficient research application, they increase the granted credit. WCG does not do this.
However, World Community Grid ensures that WCG projects receive (on average) the same credit. Despite this, some computers are a little more effective when crunching a particular project. |

So is there any chance of these being upgraded to the Seti marks? There are other projects that give even more than Seti, some alot less. As stated each project is run independently of any other and only use the same basic Boinc software as a starting point to make things a bit easier for you and I. This has been requested many, many times, a standardization of credits I mean, but since each project is independent, it is just not going to happen. We crunch for who we crunch for based on many things, hopefully credits are not the deciding factor in the end.javascript:smilie(' ')![]() ![]() |
