Looks like I wasted 224 hours of CPU on these two. That is troubling.

Intel Core2 quad 9550 Vista 64bit.

Not 224 hours, RT, 122 or 102 depending on which copy was yours, which is already annoying enough.

Since it failed for you and your wingman it looks like this specific work unit had a problem. Any interesting information when you click on "Error" to see the Result Log?
And what was the result for copy _0?

I think it was 224 since I think both of the failures were on my computers; I have several running. On the other hand, it may be just the one returned 6/22/09 18:02:02. I will try some more of the CEP workunits in a few weeks; for now I am back to the cancer projects primarily.

Info on one of the failures:
<core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version>

Re: Waste

RT,

It's extremely strange to see a Q9550 quad do a "Maximum CPU time exceeded", which is 10x the project mean Fpops for the previous period. Trust the machine was in maximum CPU cycle mode, I mean hardware wise.

Still, what if you click on the Work Unit detail did the result do with suffix 0--. That would give the lead. With 2 errors in the same result, which cant have come off the same machine, more copies will have been sent out. Certainly with 112 hours a pop it's worth to know if the techs should take this one out of circulation.

cheers

edit: I'd recommend periodic booting looking at the lib load issues, which could have been the real cause.

Not entirely sure what you are looking for, but I can tell you a few things:

The 9550 is running its little electrons around as fast as it can.

This WU has been sent out 8 times: it has 2 in process, 3 no replies and 3 errors. Even Watson should find that worth investigation straight face .

I am running something between 50k and 75k points a day on 6-9 machines without periodic re-booting and looking for library load issues on multiple machines. (Translation: not happening)

I recommend the project team finds this bug prior to running others off the project.
