This is interesting. I have the following four WUs in Pending Validation Status. All four are ready to validate - have quorum of 2 - and I have HCMD2 WUs returned before and after that have validated. It's like the validator missed/skipped them???
----------------------------------------CMD2_ 0008-1I7X_ A.clustersOccur-2DW4_ A.clustersOccur_ 949_ 1427199_ 1427415_ 1 CMD2_ 0007-IMPA2A.clustersOccur-SODM.clustersOccur_ 0_ 3065_ 4854_ 0 CMD2_ 0008-1I7X_ A.clustersOccur-1RKC_ A.clustersOccur_ 92_ 510569_ 511313_ 1 CMD2_ 0008-MYH2A.clustersOccur-TPM3A.clustersOccur_ 600_ 1 ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by keithhenry at Jun 15, 2009 1:09:27 PM] |

It's the same problem still keithhenry. Somehow the "proceed to validate" flag is missed to be set.

For those unaware, here's an FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=25807 Well. what I am used to is the rare case where the validator isn't running at all (very rare) or there's another task running during which the validator doesn't run. Having the validators running and missing WUs that are ready for validation is a new one for me. I've not seen that before. Guess I must be lucky. From reading the FAQ entry, it would appear I have about 10 days to wait (the original deadline) or about 14 days to wait (transitioner) unless the techs do something in the meantime (quite possible even if they don't read this). Thanks Sek! |

Not reporting another instance of this but posting with my observations. I have yet to see the 19 day cycle. I have seen the original due date cycle a few times. More frequently I have begun seeing what I would term as a slow down on the validators. By this I mean that sometimes it will be many hours (but less than the time to the next update) before validation happens. Over all I think we had been spoiled in the past with the validators running almost instantaneously :-) I know that knreed et al. have this on the list of things to explore but I would not be surprised if it somehow manages to *fix* itself when the sheer volume of results gets reduced as they close in on getting the average time to crunch for HCMD2 up from the current 2.4 hrs. to the standard target of 7 hrs.

What you call the slowdown is what I was referring to when I mentioned apparently normal times when the validators do not run. This seems to be for 2-3 hours starting about an hour after the stats update at the mid-day and end of day. |
