Only run WCG on BOINC 5.10.30 P4, so not multi-core PC. Previously upgraded to BOINC ver 6.whatever. - Downgraded as ver 6 didn't work on my PC for some reason. (after processing a weeks worth of differant project WUs that all failed, I gave up and went back to a version that did work) I'm sure I can live with the current problem for the next 2 months, while it sorts itself out. Still processing WUs, even if it doesn't give me any spare in the buffer. Ah, I wasn't sure if single-core cpu or not, so posted an answer that handled all the various possibilities, just to be on the safe side. Since it's single-core, you'll only get new work then current finished, and there won't be any other cores sitting idle. But, the problem you'll likely to hit is, BOINC-client will ask for more work before current work finished, and won't get any. This can lead to upto 4 hours deferrall just seconds before current work finished, and you'll allowed to download more work. So, even if it's only single-core, it's still an advantage to fix client_state.xml before August... As for BOINC-version, since you're not running Vista, I don't see any advantages of switching to v6.2.28. It's maybe an advantage to switch to v5.10.45, but I don't remember any major problems with v5.10.30, so if you're not hitting any other problems than the wrong-date-problem, there's really no big reasons for switching from v5.10.30. ![]() "I make so many mistakes.
