Anyone else noticed a slow down?

Hello,
Actually I have noticed some serious problems with regard to getting new work units today. This is the message I have received for 5 projects. 15/06/2009 10:02:45 AM|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. I have tried resetting the project. I have also tried detaching form the Grid and re-installing the software, but I get the same message. It claims I have reached my "daily quota" of 4 work units for Clean Energy but has not actually allocated my PC any work units at all. This suggests to me some serious general technical fault ? Have you had a look at your Result Status page at My Grid? Quota 4 means you have most probably been returning bad results and not only today, for the original quota is ~320 and will go down all the way to 1 per day if the condition persists.

I have no errors other than caused by detaching from the grid, and I have not had any Invalid results for some time now. But yes I have been having problems, but not with Invalid results or errors. It's the Muscular Dystrophy Phase 2 project. It's made a mess of my timer for my entire job queue. So for example 7 hour Clean Energy jobs were now assessed as 14 to 18 hours. This happened for all my other project work as well. I tried to reset the Grid project but it did not clear the problem. Then I tried what worked for me to fix the problem when I ran a massive Beta test job successfully to conclusion for that project. I aborted my entire 10 days job queue, detached from the grid, deleted the software, then re-downloaded the software and re-attached the grid. But now I cannot get any project work at all. Are aborted jobs counted as bad results ? If yes I'd better not abort and try to re-download my 10 days job queue if I have similar problems in future. Any ideas ? Thanks. Michael2901 |

10 days job queue can only make matters worse. Resetting the project should reset the rDCF (Result Duration Factor) to 1.000000, but now that you've reached your quota, and yes aborting goes against the daily overall quota too, it's either uninstall, delete all BOINC traces, reinstall so WCG sees a new device or send a mail to support@worldcommunitygrid.org asking for a reset. Do note the device ID it's required for.
----------------------------------------What's odd is, that if you return good results after the aborts, the quota should be immediately upped. Anyway, I'm confused for your first message is timestamped 10:01 and later valid results are timestamped through 13:09 on the 15th. Again the quota should come up immediately, at least that's what I understood. Added: And yes, the HCMD super flux has caused for many to have an upset buffer setting. I've had FLU jobs that run 5-6 hours in the queue with 25 hours each, stopping all fetching. The 4 day queue got a 16 days rating. Can't do anything about it, well you can by hacking, so just let it run or wait till 00:00 UTC for the quota to be available again. Then make sure to report these tasks i.e. temporarily manually Update the project for the "ready to report" to clear.
