Hello, I have this server that is running that seems to be detaching 90% of my WU. However looking at the server everything looks to be running fine. I was wondering if there was someone who has had this problem before. Linux 64 bit quad. Everything seems to be running through well just detaches not even an abort etc. Thanks in advance!

For the moment I can think(guess) up a few things that could be happening.
----------------------------------------1. You have a backup / restore routine going that causes the client/server contact counter to go out of sync. The BOINC message log may tell more (file stdoutdae.txt). Please post excerpt of relevance. 2. You have devices with same ID on your network, that usually aborts/cancels the work. Think on the result status page the detached filters in with the aborted results, so what does it say there in the Result logs exactly?

3. BAM and BOINC manager interfer, if you are using BAM but didn't connect your hosts to the project through BAM but through command line or BOINC manager. I'm not sure if this is still a problem but it has been one for some time.
----------------------------------------edit : just by chance ... does it happen every 4 days? If this is the case, I would not be surprised if it was a side effect of this annoying "next_rpc_delay" feature. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 15, 2009 8:39:48 AM] |

You could be on the money ananas, but having battled with this myself, it should be a one time event. My options at BAM of course include WCG and the "attach new hosts by default" box is ticked. First time BAM can't do it (yet) on a brand new host because certain WCG information can only be fetched via the standard attach project function for new hosts. Once it's there, the BAM will detach such a client from WCG and reattach, after which it should not occur again, at least on my hosts.
----------------------------------------The connect update can be set at different intervals on this page: http://boincstats.com/bam/bam_settings.php
