Discrepency in the number of points assigned

This is the first time I have seen the same task been done by two different computer (Same job, and not rice - mind you), both were completed successfully and each computer got different credit amount.

This is just an observation, even if my computer got less credit than the wingman.

Yes, because there are long and short positions and often many in a task, WCG similar to RICE can compute how much work was done in a time frame and compute from there how much each machine should get awarded. Isn't it great, to do quorum 2 and not be pulled down be the lowest claimant?

You will have noticed these first batches made for science version 6.13 run near exactly 4 hours, if there is no monster position included that takes longer to complete.

edit: from to read a frame

Re: Discrepency in the number of points assigned

i just looked at my work and see that your right the new ones dont run longer than 4 hours(giver or take a few min)

my new question is.. Is this a new setup do work units end at 4 hours and then get broken down if they were too long>? and what happens to the partal work that has happened i asume it gets saved and the uncalculated portion gets reavaluated and sent out again

Re: Discrepency in the number of points assigned

For now 4 hours is the goal. Don't worry about remaining work in a task. If you followed the discussions (we all do of course), there are 2246 positions and the system tracks which ones have been done and from there generates more jobs to compute any that were not done in the first job of 4 hours, then the next of 4 hours does more until all are complete, including the very large ones. The last job in the string can be longer or shorter, that is if the 60% complete test is still in place.
