Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 36 smilesmile

We all make mistakes Jonathan..

Dr. Mike

Not a mistake ... just job security for CIH. *Darn, more work for them tonight. laughing biggrin laughing
***
AQUA increased its GPU usage today. In doing so they killed off the 8500GT and other older cards. The frame refresh rate is now too slow to use it. Another missed opportuity. sad
***
Another nice day today. Spring has a lock on us for 3 more days. Then the heat starts. sad

G'Evening MOT. coffee

cowboy

I'm running an AQUA cuda wu right now. It's 3.26. I had a few 3.25's and they would crash about a half a second after they started.
With these 3.26's, my card is running as hot as GPUGRID and everything on my screen scrolls very choppy.
It's annoying. I can't even type without seeing how choppy it is. I won't be able to fight my war in the other forum if my video is doing this.
This better be worth some points, or it's back to GPUGRID.
[edit] I forgot to put the word *darn in here.

Oh! Abort the 3.25s if you guys still have them, they are mostly faulty!

I've noticed the heat and GPU usage increase. Though the CPU useage really dropped to less then 5%, and that's with really less frequent CPU use.

Hope they tweak it to allow older cards back in.

I am all for using clean language in public and private but doesn't it seem a bit too radical for them to edit that word? I guess they must have a program that scans the entire set of forums looking for those words and then they go look at the individual posts.

Lot of unproductive work. sad By unproductive I mean it does not further any of the research. Hopefully this person could do something productive if they did not have to spend time editing.

It just occured to me that they could (or I could) write some code that would dis-allow the words they wanted banned during the posting process thereby preventing them from ever showing up on the fourm. Seems to me that I have seen that elsewhere. confused

Thought for the day:
No matter where you go...................there you are.

First, your quotation is wonderfully Buddhist, but is from the Beatles, right? Second, as far as censoring the forums, we're all grown-ups here and even if we're not, we use these words. Expletives penetrate all aspects of our lives, from my reaction to my alarm clock, to a casual f-word dropped by a homeless person, to professors who occasionally swear to drive home their points. After all, if you use a computer, then you're exposed to swear words. I just feel bad for poor CIH.

Me too. I use that machine for other things so I can't have the jerky frame rate. I brought up the GTX260 at GPUGrid ... I have to run some GPU jobs this summer!! smile But then it's not summer ... I don't know what season it is anymore. confused Thunderstorms up here today. Who knows ... maybe snow on the 4th of July??? laughing biggrin laughing

A prank for Jonathan or Blizzie: Laptop Shutdown Prank. Perfect for a friend who is off to study in the library!

Yeah, i've done things like this. Playing with people's windows sound schemes can be fun. Also, remapping keyboards can be fun. Switch someone's qwerty keyboard to dvorak, or just random.

It's "child friendly". Any child interested in this board would have to have an IQ greater than all of ours. wink

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 36 smilesmile

Opportunity to win an essay contest for $1000 . I would enter the contest, but I'm going to end up as a reader. Take a look and see if you're interested. Here's the description:

The United Coalition of Reason is delighted to announce an essay contest as part of our upcoming Good Without God campaign tied not only to a social movement but to a book that’s being published in the fall. Please forward this message as widely as possible and help us unite the millions of voices of reason across the country.

The contest is simple. Please tell us your personal story, in 500 words or less: what does it mean for you to be Good Without God? How do you live out your positive values as a Humanist, atheist, agnostic, secularist, or freethinker? Please write in the first person. We highly encourage you to share specific examples about your god-free involvement in service to country or community; how your non-religious approach to life helped you to get through a difficult time; or how it transformed your relationships with your family and the people you care about.
