The above message has started to come up when I am running BOINC. The first indicator is that the when showing the Tasks tab, the Elapsed, Progress and To Completion status do not show the tasks as running. If I try and Update WCG in the Projects tab or do a Network Connection in the Advanced section then that is when the above message appears, and when it does it is impossible to dismiss it. And I cannot then see anything in the Projects/Tasks/Transfers/Messages/Statistics/Disk pages
Is this an indicator of anything? I am running 6.6.29, but this problem had occurred in previous versions It is being run on MAC OS 10.5.7 on 2 x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 |

Something is obstructing/slowing communication between any 2 of 4 BOINC program components, caused by the Firewall or Antivirus or other network interfering service. Mostly it's the BOINCmgr.exe trying to talk to the BOINC.exe core client (on windows). Since about 6.6.10 or so I also see this allot on my Windows quad or when accessing a remote client. Yes annoying.

There is actually communications going on with WCG as I see results on the website, along with allocation of new WUs. However I have to Force Quit in order to restart BOINC and I do not know how much this is affecting client. Is there anyone involved in the BOINC Mac agent able to comment at all .... |

I like the "we're not a Mac, we're a PC" adds very much. Do not recollect any users of Mac reporting this, but rest assured the comm structure of BOINC under Windows or Mac is hardly different... your description matches exactly. Maybe other users who've experienced this share their thoughts and observations.
