When you see messages like the below during a period of server intermittent contact (poor connectivity):
----------------------------------------28/05/2009 16:59:03 WCG Started upload of flu10201l0677_100149_0_1 28/05/2009 16:59:04 WCG [error] Error reported by file upload server: [flu10201l0677_100149_0_1] locked by file_upload_handler PID=22435 28/05/2009 16:59:04 WCG Temporarily failed upload of flu10201l0677_100149_0_1: transient upload error 28/05/2009 16:59:04 WCG Backing off 1 min 51 sec on upload of flu10201l0677_100149_0_1 Just stay cool and collect. The BOINC client will try again later and report messages similar to these: 28/05/2009 17:00:56 WCG Started upload of flu10201l0677_100149_0_1 28/05/2009 17:01:05 WCG Finished upload of flu10201l0677_100149_0_1 28/05/2009 17:01:08 WCG Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks. 28/05/2009 17:01:08 WCG Reporting 1 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks 28/05/2009 17:01:23 WCG Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks The key word in this is transient. The problem most of the times resolves itself. If in a rush, you could go to the client Transfer window, select the file that has a count down clock ticking next to it and hit the Retry Now button. If you do this too often the back-off time will increase! Related Topics: When Client-Server Communications Started to be Troublesome
