Lot of Inconclusive

Hi,

today I checked and uploaded my results of last weekend of one of my computers and it looks like it has a problem with this project:

flu10201h0435_ 100269_ 0-- Inconclusive 20.05.09 09:21:34 25.05.09 06:45:46 5.83 95.7 / 0.0

All those "inconclusive" happend on the same computer (Intel Centrino vPro, WinXP Prof). I run IADS on 4 other computers and did not have a single "inconclusive" on those machines.
The WU are all waiting for the second result (they are on "PV"), so I do not know yet if it is a problem with my computer or if they really are all inconclusive.

I lost 60 hours spending on inconclusive WU. Anyone having the same problem?

-update-
I just had one more inconclusive. This time it is on another computer. Also Intel CPU (not really sure what kind of) and WinXP Prof:
flu10201m0678_ 100247_ 0-- Inconclusive 23.05.09 11:08:12 25.05.09 01:50:33 8.30 80.1 / 0.0

Re: Lot of Inconclusive

Can you go through all the result logs and see for any messages out of the ordinary (in case you'd not done that already).

This happend on two computers (running Boinc 6.4.7 and 6.6.2). It looks like all those units went to 100% and then became inconclusive(?).

Re: Lot of Inconclusive

Something happened for your computer to get marked as unreliable, so about 15 results are send out up front or afterwards with a second copy to test if it can produce results that are trustworthy without a second opinion. You will always occasionally see a random result for the Zero Redundancy projects to go to that condition, to reconfirm that 'reliable' status.

That versioninfo line is a benign one appearing in all results for this project. There of more of these kind you can readily ignore. See Start Here forum for an FAQ on this.

Re: Lot of Inconclusive

Today I returned about 40 IADS results with that computer (it was offline for 4 days), 11 have now inconclusive as status. I do not know why the computer is set as unreliable, it is running 24/7 since weeks, returning all results in time and I did not cancel a single WU. Anyway it is good to hear that there is no error in the WUs itself. It is just a mechanism to ensure valid results :).

Thank you Sekerob for your help, now I can continue crunching without the feeling of wasting time.

Re: Lot of Inconclusive

Please stop to complain about inconclusive results:
1/ Inconclusive does not mean "error".
2/ In the most cases inconclusive WUs become "valid" (and the credits will be granted)
3/ Usually, you are not responsible for the server decision to consider a WU as inconclusive (excepted if the host becomes unreliable because of overclocking).
Honestly, I become tired to read several times per week the same complains about "non-issue".

Be PATIENT ! The inconclusive work will become surely valid and you will get the credit.

Please STOP to micro-manage your hosts: stopping, pushing, canceling WUs.
It costs a lot of overload to the server and increase the redundancy which definitively wastes time and energy by the other members.

Please: READ posts and FAQ in order to avoid recurrent remarks and complains !

I am aware that I am not "politically correct" but I can suppose that some other members are tired too !

Enjoy the day & happy crunching,
Yves

Re: Lot of Inconclusive

I think 11 inconclusive results within 1 minute is worth a post. I do not see a single complain (except yours) in this thread, just a report of something that did not happen to me before. Sekerob answered my question fast, once again, thank you! - no problem at all

If you are tired of reading the same questions again and again, feel free to stop reading those questions.

All crunching done here by the community is volunteer. Telling people to not ask if they have a question does not encourage them to spend more time for this project. Questions are what keeps science going.
