I know there's been discussion of invalid results possibly getting credit, but this is the first time I've experienced it. Nice, especially when it's almost certainly not invalid. (This happens to be a stock standard branded PC which has never been overclocked and I don't believe has ever had a WU marked invalid before.)

Hi Kremmen,
Invalid results are awarded half-credit, Errors get no credit - unless knreed decrees otherwise for a particular case. The only tricky point is figuring out the credit for the particular quorum method being used by a project - - that can be tricky in the details. Lawrence |

Claimed and credited were identical, which seemed odd. Of course, it may just be a coincidence. My machines have often been getting far more credit than claimed, so maybe it just happened to be exactly double this time.
The invalid results are curious in themselves. After about 40 HCMD2 betas with none invalid, this was the first of about 10 betas with 50% marked invalid. |

Looks like this batch of betas is over. I've had over 10 invalid and every one has received at least full value.
However, even more interesting is that I can't see any pattern. Different machines. WUs from under 1 hour to almost 6 hours. Some completed fully, while some got the "Finishing early because max runtime has been exceeded" completion. That will be an interesting data set they'll be going through! |

Beta units are peculiar because the server treats them as ordinary units following ordinary rules - - then knreed comes along and periodically adjusts them as seems fair to him. Which means that Invalids or even Errors can suddenly change to full credit.
