i think i figured some of the problems out..
had some power outs.... i am using ahci mode in the bios, which now after some reading and checking pc logs ahci should be used with a ups (uninterupted power supply) as power outs can cause file loss and coruption... now me thinks i may want to reinstall windows.... the pc in plugged into a ups now.... |

Hahaha...lol. Using a crappy OS on that crappy CPU? Geez.. what did you do to get forced to this? XP doesnt even have correct SMP management, NOR can use all the modern CPU features. OMG its an OS from the stone age anyway.
About the CPU.. Can be anything faster ? OC anything. Its an AMD cpu geez. Try an Intel i7 or a Sparc , PPC, anything. (Only marketing says hey thats the fastest..LOL) |

And the UPS is a musthave if you have such problems. By the way, you should still change that really old I guess. (If you want to use the advantages of that CPU of yours.) |
