Hi,
----------------------------------------According to the project progress page , the situation can be summarized as followed: On Thursday June 18th 2009, the results of the "0001" and "0002" batches has been sent to the scientist. This is 0.09% of the positions (the total 2,466,753 couples are split in 2467 batches of 1000 couples each). There is still plenty of work for HCMD2 ! ... Cheers, Yves |

With 2.95 hours/task being so far below the norm here, are they likely to increase the 4 hour time limit?

Later we'll be doing the easier, lighter stuff, so, not only by adding more cpu hour contribition as the project goes and grows, the relative % speed of the project will accelerate due more positions done in a unit of time. Yes, you're absolutely right. Moreover I think there might be another room for boosting the progression but I have to talk about that with the other scientists and with the WCG team. |

The first 1,000 CPU years Milestone or 1,340 TeraFlops in computations donated.

5 million results validated at midday, July 8, 2009. That's about 89,000 tasks per day since the launch date.

A small update to an update:
---------------------------------------- * New update on Thursday July 2nd : we now have the batches "0001" and "0002" almost complete, and a little less than 33% of the "0003" and "0004" batches. * On Thursday June 18th we received a part of the results of the "0001" and "0002" batches, this is 0.09% of the positions (The total 2,466,753 couples are split in 2467 batches of 1000 couples each). Am seeing actually a bunch of grand-children tasks in my quad queue of batch 0017 ... we're way ahead of the scientists ![]()

My i7 already crunches 24/7 at 4GHz for XtremeSystems
![]() Currently I am finishing up my goal of 1 year for DDDT, then 1 year CEP. With the time I already have in on those projects I should be back to HCMD2 fulltime in about 40 days. If all goes well I will replace my i7 920 CPU with a hexcore gulftown some time in October and then get more component pieces to bring the 920 back on line by the end of the year. Happy crunching, Steve |

Since the % of positions of overall completed is an entire unknown unless following the 'scientist confirmed and received' webpage update (link on chart), nor it expressing the toughness of the first series of 'choice' batches, I've changed the Progress % to Batch Progress, where we know there are 2467 to complete. As soon as I see a grandchild for a given batch I'll increment the number. Currently that's the case of batch 17, so you'll see for now 17 of 2467
----------------------------------------Please don't prompt me when you see 18 or 19 etc. as I will NOT update this value on a daily basis. cheers PS, and I do change my mind... my prerogative ;>)
